****Just updated the SAKE flyer with a much sexier one that lists some of the artist. Also added a better link to the event webpages****

Next week I HIGHLY recommend you check out this event:

http://www.mnemonicgallery.com/sake2.php

It looks like my fabulous gal pal Nina will have a piece in SAKE. But Studio Q, her and her wife Amie’s space, which is on the same floor, and will be showing this artist:

Keep in mind that this is a First Thursday night which means that Pioneer Square will be packed with other Art Walkers. Bad news, plan to pay for parking. Good news, Sake is just one event, on one floor, of a building FULL of artist lofts that will be open. And Art Walk is a great place to get your subtle flirt on. Lots of hot people(like me!) and no end of conversation starters hanging on the walls.

No guts no glory my friends. So get out there, have some fun!

As most of you who have read my blog and/or come to play know, I’m a big advocate for the CSPC (also known as the Wetspot). Our local sexy community center is THE place to go if you are looking to find other kinky peeps and playmates.

I understand that your first visit to a BDSM club can be even more intimidating then your first visit to a Pro Domme. But, just as those of you who have meet me also know, it’s not only worth the risk but it is also a lot less scary then your inexperienced imagination makes it out to be.

Well, those great folks at the center are just as understanding as I am. Which is why they’ve got an event coming up just for you nervous newbies. And just so we’re clear, this is THE PERFECT EVENT for you to check out the Wetspot if you have yet to do so. But it’s also a good event to attend if you’ve been to the center before and want to meet some more people.

They’ve got one of their required orientations the same day so you can go, get your membership and play all in the same day.

SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 23

6:30 PM to 7:30 PM
Saturday Intro to Sex-Positive Culture
18+.
$35 yearly basic membership dues

The Intro to Sex-Positive Culture is a mandatory orientation that all
potential members must attend before joining. It is designed to
introduce the broad range of experiences available at Seattle’s Center for Sex
Positive Culture. The orientation provides attendees with a history of
sex-positive culture in Seattle and reviews some of the expectations
and etiquette expected at our events. Orientations also include a
question-and-answer period so that attendees can get any questions answered.

After you’ve decided to attend an orientation, please email
mailto:info@sexpositiveculture.org if you need more information. The next
available date can be found on the Calendar page.

Directions to the location where orientations are held are on the
Directions page. Orientations are generally held every Thursday at 7:00 PM,
every Saturday 6:30 PM, and on the second Friday and the fourth Friday
of every month at 7:30 PM. Please check our schedule to verify dates,
as orientations are changed or canceled from time to time.
Please note:

Orientations are restricted to people with picture ID showing that they
are over 18 years old. The Orientation on the second Saturday on odd months will be held in
the Annex.

8:00 PM to 9:00 PM
Pansexual BDSM Social
18+. Members only.
Free

This FREE social happens before the Pansexual BDSM Parties for our
members. After you leave your membership card or ID at the door, you can
tour the dungeon and back rooms and generally socialize until 9:00 PM,
when we “let the beatings begin.”
For information, please email pansexual@wetspot.org.

Our very own CSPC getting some mainstream press –

http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/22581503/

It’s an okay article. Doesn’t seem to be too critical but it’s still an outsider perspective. And as such I think the author’s impressions are pretty accurate.

The demo he describes, involving fire play, sounds awesome. I also find it significant that he picked up on something that I’ve seen with other edge play activities. There isn’t a huge sexual charge to it. Part of that might be that it takes a lot more focus, for safety’s sake. You can’t just be all grabby and lusty when needles or fire are involved.

But what I’ve seen and appreciate about some of the edgier activities in the BDSM realm, whether its play piercing, fire play, suspension, electricity, or even intense canning scenes, is that at its core it is a solo spiritual experience. Yes, it takes two(at least) but the intensity of the sensations all but force the bottom to “go deep” with in themselves.

Which isn’t to say that can’t be a sexual thing. The endorphine high that results from this type of play, combined with a very focused sense of ones own body, can be brought to a nice Face of God type orgasm. But admittedly, in most of the scenes of this magnitude I’ve seen or been party to, the euphoria and acute awareness of the amazing potential and possibilities of ones physical form is orgasm-like enough that all they want after it is to curl up somewhere safe and warm…like their Dominant’s arms.

Don’t get me wrong, I’m very much looking forward to chomping down on some tasty dead bird on Thursday. Almost as much as I’m looking forward to all the turkey sandwiches I’ll get to enjoy in the aftermath.

But I think attending this event is more in keeping with the spirit of the holiday…

well…okay, the pilgrims were all a bunch of tight-ass puritans who would probably have burned me at the stake for the types of things I’ll be confessing to being thankful for…

but screw it, its a revisionist holiday just like most every other American celebration.

Whether our forefathers would have approved or not, I’m going to this on Tuesday and you’re welcome to join me:

EROTIC SEATTLE EDUCATION SALON

Tuesday November 20th
Erotic Seattle Education Salon: “Gratitude”
Dinner @ 6:00 pm, Salon @ 7:00 pm-9:00 pm FREE!
Capitol Club 414 E Pine St (Cross Street: Bellevue Avenue)

Our November topic for the ESE Salon is gratitude. What kind of sexual
and BDSM experiences have left you grateful? Come on down and we’ll
talk about it! We will meet in the little side room to the right when you
first walk in. Come early at 6:00 pm and join Allena Gabosch & Teri
Ciacchi for a bite to eat before the discussion begins.

Erotic Seattle Education Sexuality Salon Discussions occur the third Tuesday of every
month in Capitol Hill. A salon is an open facilitated discussion focused
on a specific topic. Each Sexuality Salon will be focused on a different
aspect of Sex (bet you already figured that out eh? ) Salons will
start at 7pm and end at 9pm and are open to all people. If you are a person
that has difficulty with diversity or passionate conversation you may
not want to attend.

Here’s a link to the Capitol Club, one of my favorite Seattle restaurants, in case you need more incentive:

http://www.thecapitolclub.net/

These chats are always a lot of fun and are yet another way to get to know folks in the Seattle kink community. You don’t need a membership, just an open mind, and a willingness to share your own experiences.

Hope to see you there!

http://www.cirquedunoc.com/

Alas and Alack I have big birthday obligations and will not be able to attend this years fabulous fetish freak show that is Cirque Du Noc…

but that doesn’t mean that you should miss it. In fact you should go and have enough fun for two people and then email me about all the great kinky things you did and saw.

Seriously if you’re looking for a way to test out the Seattle scene THIS WOULD BE A GOOD WAY!

They are serious about the dress code thing so don’t be a weeny and show up in jeans and a polo shirt. At a loss for what to wear? Well basic black(slacks and a button down or nice t-shirt) usually works at most fetish events for boys. This is a bit more of a dress-up event so if you go with that, glue some devil horns to your forehead to make it more of a “costume”. Not feeling horny? Well most folks look good in a tux. Or skip the shirt and jacket and just do the slacks, bow tie and cuffs ala Chippendale.

Need more ideas? Try stopping by the Crypt on Capitol Hill. Tell then where you are going and let them play dress-up with you. Bonus – they just moved(into the old Vogue space) and are having a sale on leathers. Mmmmmmmm…leather. Also, chicks dig pirates. I’m just sayin…

Cirque Du Noc is one of the two big yearly fundraiser events for the Center for Sex Positive Culture(formerly and affectionately known as the Wetspot). The other event being the Seattle Erotic Arts Fest which I wouldn’t miss even if I was in a full body cast. Both events are super sexy places to schmooze with others, get your flirt on, do a bit of kinky networking. And even if you’re the shy type its worth going for the eye candy alone.

One last note, it can be hard to break into the scene if you are a single guy. Seattle is a pretty tribe minded town and the kink community has to have a certain amount of this to protect itself and its members. A great way to show that you are a good person and worth getting to know is by volunteering. You will be helping out a good cause, getting a bit of street cred and you’ll end up meeting a ton more people then you would by just showing up at an event by yourself. They can always use more helping hands, especially with set up and take down.

Something to think about.

Looking to bring a bit more zing into your relationship? Or perhaps you’re single and are looking for the best way to get into your local kink scene?

Well if you live here in Seattle a great place to go to get all your questions answered is Babeland! This month and next, in particular, have some very tasty offerings:

A Taste of Tantra
Sunday, October 7th, 7:30-9:30pm, $30
Come and learn how to have a sexier, juicier life by incorporating tantric principles into your entire existence with Lizz Randall and Jay Craver. Tantra is an ancient set of principles that promote enlightenment through the erotic body and senses. We will work with breath, embodiment exercises, and we’ll teach the basic principles of tantra.

How to Please your Woman
Sunday, November 4th, 7:30-9:30pm, $30
She comes first and often at Babeland! Our Sex Educators have talked to thousands of women about what they like in the bedroom (or car, or office) and we want to share it with you. Learn incredible cunnilingus techniques, how to find and stimulate the G-spot, anal pleasure, breast and nipple play, and so much more! Discover how to locate her erogenous zones and how to increase both of your sexual communication skills.

Most folks know that I’m a big fan of The Center for Sex Positive Culture (formerly known as The Wetspot) even though I don’t seem to get myself down there very often. Well here’s a chance for you to hear the Grand Dame herself talk about the Center as well as some of the other great kinky options this town has to offer:

Kinky Seattle info night
Tuesday, October 30th, 7:30pm FREE!
Feeling frisky and want to try something new? Want to meet like-minded people or just find local fetish nights, dungeon play parties, swing events and other sex positive activities but don’t know where to start? Join Allena Gabosch, Executive Director of The Center for Sex Positive Culture for information on Seattle’s sex-positive community. We will cover places to go, events to keep an eye out for, what to wear and even touch on proper etiquette when attending sex-positive events.

I might attend just cause I enjoy listening to Allena talk. I’ll post it here if I’m for sure going to make it to this. That night is a religious holiday for me, but as my religion encourages sexual openness, talking about such things with a Goddess like Ms. Gabosch could be the best way to celebrate.

If you’re ever curious what’s going on at the center, as there is ALWAYS something fabulous and kinky happening, here’s a link to their calender. Just take note that membership is required for a lot of the events. But becoming a member is as easy as attending one of their Intro to Sex Positive Culture workshops and paying the $35 dues, that shouldn’t deter you if you see something you wanna check out: http://www.sexpositiveculture.org/calendar

And here’s the info on Babeland. Check out their site for a full listing of this month’s, or any other’s, workshops.

Babeland is at 707 E. Pike St. on Capitol Hill, call 206-328-2914 or visit http://www.babeland.com/events to reserve workshop tickets. Singles and couples of every gender and sexual orientation are invited to attend our workshops and events (18+ only). Buy workshop tickets in advance and get a $5 coupon to use on purchases the night of the workshop. ASL available upon request-email audrey@babeland.com to make arrangements. Sliding scale available.

The following site contains adult material so if you are a grown-up and like that sort of thing, Welcome!!!

Clicking outside this window means that you are an adult and you're willing to see adult material.

If you are a child or young person under the age of 21 then this site is not for you. Please wander off to another part of the interwebs like Scarleteen.com.
If you are an adult who behaves like a spoiled and ignorant child when faced with sex positive information and images I really don’t know where to send you but this might be a good start: Psychiatry.org.
